July 2019 – Update

So what have I been doing?

July’s an odd month from me, it’s just after the midpoint of the year and it’s also my birthday month. So just like New Year’s, it’s another time to look back at what I’ve achieved or not achieved in this last trip around the sun. I’ve been quite harsh on myself in the past, but thankfully this year I’ve got the tools to be less critical of myself.

This is mainly down to two courses I’ve enrolled in this year. I’ve completed the HB90 Boot camp and I’m in the middle of Publish and Thrive course. Both taught by Sarra Cannon (Heart Breathings). I know I’m not where I want to be, but as I’ve discovered this may be a good thing. The strategies I was undertaking probably may have done more harm than good.

So I’ve slowed down on the writing whilst I finish the second course and I’m making sure that I’m on the right path before I hurtle down the wrong one.  So I’m excited about the future, and still very eager to get something out. However I now know, I need a bit of patience and allow myself the time to embark on this journey properly.

What else have I been up to?

DYMK Bar/Club – Bournemouth

Other than a small amount of writing and switching scenes around. I’ve been to Bournemouth for an overdue evening out for both mine and Darrell’s (Partner) birthdays. His birthday also falls in July, so we often have a joint celebration. That was a fun night out, we had fish and chips by the sea and then out to a few bars before having a bit of a dance.

It’s also been a record July heatwave here in the UK, so I’ve spent most of this week (Monday the 22nd onwards) avoiding the sun and the heat and doing my best to keep cool.
A little while ago I discovered the site www.pickuplimes.com and have binge-watched a few of Sadia’s videos on YouTube. As I knew the heat was coming, I ordered some lollypop moulds. I  had a go at making the tropical popsicles (Top Image) that I saw a few weeks ago. Very refreshing and so easy to make. I’m really getting into making things from scratch and being able to freeze things and have it later. I do admit to browsing Amazon for Tupperware, what’s become of me!

My current song obsession

Avril Lavigne – I fell in love with the devil.

I’ve been playing this quite a bit the last week or so. It’s good to see Avril back after her health struggles. I forget how long she’s been creating music for and I’ve been enjoying some of her older tracks this week too. Sk8ter Boi never gets old.

I could ramble on for ages, but it’s just started pouring down and Jerry the house bunny is out doing his best to get as wet as possible, so I’m going to don a jacket and try and chase him home… wish me luck!
